Chef de Mission and General Team Manager
Jean Cross and former cycling lead Andy Hamon will take the reins as Jersey’s Chef de Mission and General Team Manager, respectively, for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
With three months to go until the quadrennial event returns to Scotland, work continues for officials at the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey (CGAJ) as they prepare to take a squad of up to 21 ‘open allocation’ athletes to Glasgow.

Hamon, team manager for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad & Tobago, moves into the same role at a senior Games for the first time, while Cross takes on the role of Chef du Mission for the third consecutive Games.
“The Commonwealth Games is such an exciting event for people from all around the world and I’m really happy to be able to play a part for Jersey,” said Hamon. “Glasgow will be a new experience for us all and we’ve been working hard over the last few months to give our athletes the best platform possible as they get ready to compete against the best in the Commonwealth.”
CGAJ vice-president Cross, who was Chef du Mission for Jersey at Gold Coast 2028 and Birmingham 2022, said: “I am very proud to be Chef de Mission for the third time and leading the team for Glasgow.
“It has been an unsettling time for all athletes following the withdrawal of Victoria (Australia) as hosts, and we are very grateful to Glasgow for stepping in to host the Games this summer. It will be a different Games across four great venues, but our planning is well advanced and we’re confident that it will be an amazing event for all involved.”
